The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) is a revolutionary approach to manufacturing vehicles for the future, and the 2018 Toyota Camry, which is assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Kentucky, is the first vehicle inspired by TNGA to be assembled in North America. Toyota fully expects that that half of all new Toyota models worldwide will benefit from TNGA by the year 2020.

TNGA is two fundamental approaches when distilled to its essence: Core Strength and Emphasized Personality. Core Strength refers to the platform on which each vehicle is built; multiple models share a platform's components, which allows engineers to focus their efforts on to showcasing each model individual appeal -- otherwise known as Emphasized Personality.
The program aims to build better vehicles while giving the company's manufacturing plants the ability to be flexible and adjust to changes in the marketplace. The cost savings realized will then be reinvested into developing technologies that will lead to producing even-better vehicles -- with the process repeating itself all over again.
